Turn Your Crockpot Tropical With Luau Pork

Anyone who, like me, lives in a place where winter snowfall is measured by feet and where temperatures of -20 degrees Fahrenheit are not unheard of as the sun rises is grateful for any indication of the tropics. Even in the depths of winter, you may feel the warmth of the Caribbean with this Luau Pork dish. You may “make” your day by filling the crockpot with ingredients in the morning & coming home to a comfortable temperature when dinner is ready.

Serve it over rice and liven things up by adding some tropical fruits like mangoes, bananas, and pineapples. Put on some Beach Boys, grab the limbo stick, and throw a luau in your own living room!

Ingredients:

Boneless pork roast, weighing three pounds, five to six cloves, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, a quarter of a teaspoon of paprika, a quarter of a cup of ketchup, two tablespoons of orange juice, two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of soy sauce, and two teaspoons

Directions:

Insert the entire cloves into the roast, then place it in the slow cooker. Mix the other ingredients together and drizzle them on top of the roast. If you have a lot of time, cook low and slow for 9-11 hours, but if you don’t, cook on high for 4-5 hours. To make gravy for the roast, mix some flour or breadcrumbs with water and stir it into the juices from the slow cooker. The gravy may be served alongside the roast or on a plate in a dripping boat after being cooked on high and stirred regularly until it begins to thicken.
